28th of August is always a big day for our family. WHY? Well, because somehow 2 Orabuegos out of a family of 6 decided to announce their glorious arrival on that same day. Not as Identical Twins, though, but rather as father and son, thirty-five years apart. But for today’s celebration, we have decided to give the younger Orabuego the main spotlight:
Austin Leenski, our Senior Idolo!! 🥳🎉
Austin is two years my senior, so he and our eldest bro, Micheal, automatically became my closest mentors throughout childhood and my teenage years. I simply followed in their footsteps, which made life considerably easier for me (and later, our younger bro, Joseph). 😅
Navigating Public Secondary School was easy when you have two big bros in upper classes of the same school, especially for Austin, who was one class ahead of me for most of my academic years and our School Head Boy. Preparing for WAEC/JAMB, hustling for uni admission, OT for avoiding NYSC camp stress/parade wahala😭, NYSC PPA/Relocation issues, life-after-school, and other important life decisions were easier for us, the younger ones. And yes, I still rock some of your nice shirts/clothes and shoes that I stole was graciously given.
Anyway, the seven pictures above barely scratch the surface, but look at the range: the brainy one, the one who found God early, the one who always had his brothers around him, the certified cool guy, to dressing like a Mazi with multiple chieftaincy titles in the bag already😹, and the last one, an adult version on his pathway to greatness ahead. Same person, every single time. Just kept leveling up.
Thank you for being the kind of brother who is easy to be proud of. May this new chapter bring you everything you’ve worked for—and even more than you thought to ask for. Here’s to a year that treats you as well as you treat the people around you.
